Vision Statement

Youth advocating youth with integrity and purpose; empowered with the voice to shape the future of Riverside.

Our Mission

To provide Riverside youth with the opportunity to participate in city governance and share in the decision-making through a council intended for the purpose of addressing youth issues.

General Info

In March 2004, The Riverside Youth Council (RYC) was established by the City Council to create a means of expression and leadership development for the city's youth.  Recognizing the importance of including the youth voice in planning public policy and other decision-making that directly affects the lives of young people, the Council empowered the RYC as advisory to the Mayor, City Council, and other city departments on a range of matters important to youth.

The RYC currently has 27 members representing all Riverside high schools.
