Past Accomplishments

2004 - 2006 Accomplishments

  1. March 2004 Riverside Youth Council was formally approved by the City Council to serve as advisory council to the Mayor and City Council
  2. September 2004 Created Riverside Youth Court
  3. October 2004 Stand Up and Vote: Make Riverside Count! City wide voter pledge and voter registration campaign initiative approved by City Council
  4. November 2004 Mobilized 260 students from all city high schools to serve as non-partisan poll-workers or to work in teams and personally thank voters at all of the 120 polling locations throughout the city
  5. January 2005 Awarded $20,000 to projects created by and for youth
  6. February 2005 Granted approval by the AUSD School Board to administer the Search Institute Profiles of Student Life: Attitudes and Behaviors Survey to all 9 – 12 th grade students during the 2005-2006 school year
  7. April 16, 2005 Multi-Cultural Youth Festival “How Big Is YOUR World?” National Youth Service Project 360 volunteers worked at the event and approximately 4,000 community members attended
  8. September - October, 2005 Count Me In: Voter Registration and Awareness Campaign
  9. October 23, 2005 Festa Italiana at White Park
  10. January 16, 2006 Martin Luther King Jr. Walk-a-thon
  11. February 22, 2006 Riverside International Film Festival Student Film Night
  12. April 23, 2006 2nd Annual Multi-Cultural Youth Festival
